De esta forma Kendrick Lamar se convirtió en el primer rapper en ganar el Premio Pullitzer. La reconocida medalla es entregada por la Universidad de Columbia, y hasta el momento, en el terreno musical, solo habia sido otorgada a los generos de Jazz y Academica.
“Es un honor. Estuve escribiendo mi vida entera, así que este tipo de reconocimiento es hermoso”, dijo el artista emocionado, ante una multitud que lo ovacionó.
